Buccoo Reef Vessel Returns To Service On Inter-Island Sea Bridge

The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) is advising the public that the Buccoo Reef vessel will re-enter service on the inter-island sea bridge from today (Monday 9th February, 2026), adding significant passenger and vehicle capacity to the sea bridge.

In a Media Release this morning, PATT said, “The Buccoo Reef can accommodate approximately 948 passengers and 160 vehicles, and its return brings the active sea bridge fleet to three (3) passenger vessels, and one (1) cargo barge. The vessel will operate alongside the APT James and Galleons Passage for passenger and vehicle service, with the heavy cargo barge Elgin-IV continuing to support the movement of construction materials, heavy freight, and essential cargo to Tobago.

PATT said it “continues to co-ordinate sea bridge operations to strengthen reliability and manage demand while maintaining all safety and regulatory requirements.”

Passengers are encouraged to visit the Inter-Island Ferry Service website at www.ttitferry.com for the latest sailing schedules and ticket information.

The Media Release concluded by saying, “The Port Authority would like to again extend its sincere gratitude to all users and passengers of the sea bridge for their understanding and patience as we work to maintain service between our twin islands.”

More on this as it becomes available.
