Machel Montano To Perform At Flava Food Village On Fantastic Friday
The Honourable Michelle Benjamin, Minister of Culture and Community Development, said she is pleased to announce that Trinidad and Tobago's very own son of the soil and cultural icon, Machel Montano, will perform at the Flava Food Village (Flava) on Fantastic Friday (13th February, 2026) at the Queen's Park Savannah, as this year's bumper Carnival reaches its peak this weekend.
Introduced in early January as part of the national Carnival offering, Flava provides small and medium-sized food vendors, artisans and entrepreneurs with a curated platform to grow their operations, reach wider audiences, and showcase the quality and creativity of locally-made products within the Carnival space.
In a Media Release today (Wednesday 11th February, 2026), the Ministry of Culture and Community Development said Flava will open to the public at 4:00 PM, with live performances starting at 8:00 PM. As has been the case since its opening, the Ministry notes that admission to Flava remains free, “giving patrons the opportunity to enjoy world-class entertainment in a vibrant, safe and family-friendly space.”
According to the Ministry, “This addition to the Carnival calendar remains one of the signature attractions of the 2026 season, offering a dynamic mix of local cuisine, culture and live entertainment.” Flava opens daily through Saturday 28th February, 2026, and “continues to be a staple of a bigger and better, bumper Carnival production.”
The Ministry is inviting the public to join in the celebration, emphasizing that this initiative “demonstrates the Government's dedication to making Carnival a people's event and keeping our National Festival accessible, inclusive and community-focused.”
