SEA 2026: Coordinated Support Across Education System
The Ministry of Education (MOE) said it wishes to assure parents, students, educators, and the national community that arrangements for the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) 2026, scheduled for Thursday 26th March, 2026, have been “fully mobilized, with coordinated support and contingency plans in place, in line with established procedures that have successfully guided this national examination for many years.”
In a Media Release on Friday (13th March, 2026), the Ministry said, “The administration of SEA requires the coordinated support of multiple divisions within the education system. As is customary, the Ministry has adopted a comprehensive approach, drawing on the expertise of personnel across the education sector to ensure that every child writing the examination does so in a secure, well-managed, and supportive environment.”
Within this framework:
- Primary School Teachers voluntarily serve as invigilators and centre supervisors, helping to manage examination rooms and centres to ensure that the examination process is conducted in accordance with established protocols.
- Members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the MOE (including the Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Division, Division of Educational Research and Evaluation (DERE), Educational Planning Division (EPD), and other divisions) are assigned as examination monitors, a role that supports the integrity of the examination process and contributes to the continuous improvement of examination administration.
- Personnel from the Student Support Services Division (SSSD) play an indispensable role in facilitating Special Assessment Arrangements (Concessions), to ensure that students who require additional support are able to access the examination in an equitable manner.
The Ministry is reiterating that “all educators and support personnel who contribute to the successful administration of SEA play an important role in safeguarding the credibility of the national assessment process and ensuring that students are able to perform to the best of their ability.”
At this critical time for the approximately 18,000 students preparing to write SEA 2026, and their families, the Ministry said it “remains committed to ensuring that the examination is conducted in an environment that is calm, supportive, and professionally managed.”
The Media Release concluded by saying, “The Ministry of Education looks forward to collaborating with all stakeholders as we work together to support our students at this critical stage of their educational journey.”
