WASA: Caroni Shutdown To Disrupt Water Supply Across North, Central, South Trinidad
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in several parts of North, Central and South Trinidad that there will be a temporary disruption to their pipe-borne water supply, due to essential works being carried out by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC).
In a Media Release today (Friday 29th May, 2026), the Authority said T&TEC will “execute a critical 20/25MVA transformer installation at the Caroni Arena Substation, located at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant. Consequently, the 66kV bus will be de-energised, requiring a complete shutdown of the Caroni Water Treatment Facility.”
Start: Wednesday 3rd June, 2026 at 10:00 PM
