13-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead At Marabella Home, Father And Stepmother In Critical Condition
A schoolboy is dead and two (2) relatives critically wounded following a brutal shooting incident at their home in Marabella on Thursday night (11th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Krishan Khanai of Tramline Road, Union Park East, Marabella. His father, Krishna Khanai, and common-law wife, Leela Pariag, were also shot during the attack.
According to reports, Officers responded to reports of several loud explosions heard in Union Park East, Marabella, around 11:41 PM. Upon arriving at the scene, they were directed to the family’s wooden house along Tramline Road, where they found the teenage victim lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators also discovered the injured adults inside the house suffering from gunshot injuries.
Emergency responders conveyed both adult victims to the San Fernando General Hospital for urgent medical treatment, where they remain warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced the teenager dead and ordered the removal of his body to the San Fernando Mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination.
Crime scene investigators recovered three (3) spent 9mm shell casings with the markings “Luger” and “11,” which were seized as evidence.
Reports state that the family had recently moved into the area and had constructed the wooden home along the old railway line. The Khanai family reportedly earned a living through the sale of doubles, which were prepared and sold from the residence.
While investigators believe robbery was the motive for the attack, they are pursuing several leads and are also examining whether the shooting may be connected to ongoing tensions within the community following the Police-involved killing of Nathaniel Simmons, also known as “Prack,” on 6th May, 2026.
Krishan is the second child to be murdered in less than a week. On Saturday 6th June, 2026, 12-year-old Mercedez Layne was beaten to death at Carapal Road, Erin — a murder that rocked the nation.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting in Marabella.
More on this as it becomes available.
