28-Year-Old Venezuelan Woman Stabbed To Death On Montrose Main Road; Manhunt On For Suspect
A Venezuelan woman is dead following a brutal stabbing incident along the Montrose Main Road in Chaguanas on Saturday morning (13th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Mariannys Jiménez, also known as “Sophia,” of Kelly Village, Caroni. She was allegedly ambushed and killed by her ex-boyfriend while walking to work.
According to reports, Jiménez had spent the previous night with a close friend and co-worker before the pair set out for work, shortly after 9:00 AM. As they walked along the Montrose Main Road towards their workplace, a man dressed in dark clothing and wearing a cap reportedly approached the women and launched a vicious attack on Jiménez.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times in broad daylight, sending terrified onlookers scrambling for safety on the main road.
The victim’s friend ran into a nearby business to seek help as the brutal attack unfolded nearby.
The suspect was then seen fleeing the area moments later and Jiménez was found collapsed on the pavement, suffering from multiple stab wounds about the body.
A passing motorist rushed the wounded woman to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where medical personnel desperately attempted to save her life. However, despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries minutes after arriving.
Investigators believe the killing may have stemmed from a domestic dispute, although the motive remains under active investigation.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
