NO Electricity On Tuesday In Parts of Cascade, Laventille, Sangre Grande, Longdenville, Penal, Debe

UPDATE: T&TEC has cancelled its planned maintenance work for Cascade.

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that planned maintenance work will affect several areas of Cascade, Laventille, Sangre Grande, Longdenville, Penal and Debe on Tuesday (16th June, 2026). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works. 

According to T&TEC, the affected areas in Cascade, Laventille, Sangre Grande, Longdenville, Penal and Debe are as follows: 

CASCADE (8:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • Along St. Ann’s Main Road from the Coblentz Avenue Junction to St. Ann’s Avenue Junction, inclusive of Nook Avenue, Chinese Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Normandie Hotel, La Fantasie Road, Food Plaza along St. Ann’s Road, Coblentz Gardens and all associated side streets.

LAVENTILLE (8:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • Along Trou Macaque Road, inclusive of Buller Trace, Pelican Road and all associated side streets.

SANGRE GRANDE (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • McIntosh Trace, Vega de Oropouche.

LONGDENVILLE (9:00 AM to 2:30 PM)

  • From LP #A75 (in the vicinity of Longdenville Substation) along Edinburgh Road heading North on to Caparo Brasso Valley Road.
  • From corner of Caparo Brasso Road and Edinburgh Road heading North up to LP #61 (in the vicinity of Qui’s Supermarket) and all associated side streets, inclusive of Carlsen Field Phase 3C, Nelson Street, Montrose Main Road up to LP #213 (in the vicinity of Penco Trace), Penco Trace, Amaroosingh Street, Sandy Lane, St. Louis Drive, Fleming Street, Dam Road, Lamont Street, Cemetery Street and Enterprise Street.

PENAL (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)

  • From LP #A245 to LP #254B S.S. Erin Road, Penal and all associated side streets, including Penal Quinam Road, Jaimungal Trace, Alvarado Avenue, Lowkie Trace Extension, Sunrees Road, Rambucas Court and National Trace.

DEBE (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM)

Suspect Held Following Botched Armed Robbery Attempt On Rideshare Driver In Laventille

A suspect was arrested shortly after a report of shooting with intent in the Port-of-Spain Division last night (Saturday 13th June, 2026), during a botched attempted robbery of a 29-year-old rideshare driver. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a male victim reported to Police that he was plying his private vehicle for hire in Port-of-Spain, around 9:20 PM, when he picked up two (2) female passengers, one of whom asked to be taken to Wharton Branch Road, Laventille, to collect an item. The driver said upon arriving at the location, the female passenger exited the vehicle and two (2) men, one armed with a gun, approached the vehicle and announced a robbery. Fearing for his life, the driver said he drove off, hitting one of the suspects, who discharged the firearm. 13-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead At Marabella Home, Father And Stepmother In Critical Condition

A schoolboy is dead and two (2) relatives critically wounded following a brutal shooting incident at their home in Marabella on Thursday night (11th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Krishan Khanai of Tramline Road, Union Park East, Marabella. His father, Krishna Khanai, and common-law wife, Leela Pariag, were also shot during the attack. According to reports, Officers responded to reports of several loud explosions heard in Union Park East, Marabella, around 11:41 PM. A Venezuelan woman is dead following a brutal stabbing incident along the Montrose Main Road in Chaguanas on Saturday morning (13th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Mariannys Jiménez, also known as “Sophia,” of Kelly Village, Caroni. She was allegedly ambushed and killed by her ex-boyfriend while walking to work. Gun-Toting Man Shot Dead By Police Hours After Firing Shot Into Air In San Fernando

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Damani Lewis, who was believed to be involved in several violent offences, including home invasions, firearm-related crimes, shooting incidents, larcenies and sexual offences involving a minor. Officers received intelligence on Wednesday 10th June, 2026 that the suspect was hiding at an apartment in Cypress Ridge, Union Hall, San Fernando. Acting under the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026, Officers entered the premises shortly after 12:00 PM and began a systematic search of the apartment. During the exercise, Officers reportedly discovered the suspect hiding in the ceiling of the apartment.  The man attempted to evade capture but fell through the ceiling into another room. A man is dead following a shooting incident at his home in South Oropouche late last night (Thursday 11th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Dillon Bunsee, a straightener and painter of Warden Road, South Oropouche. According to reports, Bunsee was liming at his home with his girlfriend, 24-year-old Naomi Ramdhanie, and two (2) other men, identified only as Cameron Saitoo and “Goon,” when a gunman entered the garage area, around 11:00 PM. The family of 12-year-old Mercedez Layne is rejecting claims that Police failed to act quickly following her disappearance on Saturday 6th June, 2026, insisting that Officers devoted significant resources, time, and effort to the search from the very beginning.
