32-Year-Old Businessman Charged With Possession of Stolen Vehicle; Granted $75,000 Bail

A businessman, who was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with a surety, when he appeared before Master Tracey Vidale on Friday (7th August, 2026).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the accused, 32-year-old Adrian Brown, was ordered to reside at his home address as a condition of bail and to report to a designated Police Station at a specified time, three (3) times per week. The matter was transferred to the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court and postponed to 14th August, 2026.

Brown was charged following a Special Investigation conducted by Officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad, into a silver Nissan AD wagon, which was seized at the Licensing Authority, Caroni, on 9th May, 2024, after Officers detected suspected tampering with its chassis and engine numbers.

An in-depth investigation was subsequently conducted in collaboration with the Licensing Authority. Investigators were able to establish the vehicle’s true identity and determined that it was a silver Nissan AD wagon which had been reported stolen in the Western Division on 16th April, 2024.

The TTPS said the investigation led Officers to Brown, who was arrested on Tuesday 4th August, 2026. The accused was charged with the offence of possession of a stolen vehicle by WPC Villafana of the Stolen Vehicles Squad, who conducted investigations into the matter.

The investigation was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Pariman and Superintendent De Mattos, and directly supervised by Acting Assistant Superintendent Lazarus and Sergeants Hosein and Fenton.

A man was arrested and a vehicle recovered following a report of robbery with violence in Caroni on Monday afternoon (10th August, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 2:05 PM, the victim, a 53-year-old proprietor, was in her husband’s vehicle at the side of the roadway in front of her home, located along Caroni South Bank Road, Caroni, when two (2) men alighted from a red Hyundai vehicle. Former Payroll Officer Facing 61 Fraud Charges For Allegedly Diverting Over $166,000 To Her Bank Account

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a former employee at a security consulting company has been charged with more than sixty (60) offences arising from an alleged case of fraud. In a Media Release today (Friday 14th August, 2026), the TTPS said the suspect, identified as Brenda Omadath, was employed as a Payroll Officer at the company. During a financial audit, it was revealed that during the period Thursday 9th January, 2025 to Tuesday 10th March, 2026, Omadath, while employed at the company, allegedly falsified payment sheets to deceive her employers and subsequently transferred sums totalling $166,461.05 to her account at a local financial institution. Man Dies In Head-On Collision Along Rivulet Road, Couva; Another Driver Hospitalized

A man is dead and another injured following a head-on collision along Rivulet Road in Couva on Friday night (31st July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as Avinash, also known as “Chucky Avi,” of Dow Village. According to reports, a white Toyota Hilux (TDW 4431) was travelling East along Rivulet Road, when a grey Nissan Frontier (TCK 8116), heading West, allegedly crossed over into the opposite lane, resulting in a violent head-on collision with the Hilux, around 9:30 PM. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Both drivers sustained injuries and were conveyed to the Couva Health Facility for emergency medical treatment. However, Avinash subsequently succumbed to his injuries. A Chaguanas man and his 18-year-old girlfriend have appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of 25-year-old Shayanna Ruiz , which occurred on 29th July, 2026, in the Central Division. UPDATE (17/08/26): The second deceased man has been identified as Clint Jordan. Relatives of both Nigel Mohammed and Clint Jordan have disputed several aspects of what transpired at the property.
