65-Year-Old Man Dies At Hospital In Suspected Homicide At HDC Apartment Building In Port-of-Spain
A man was found critically injured at an HDC apartment building in Port-of-Spain on Friday afternoon (7th August, 2026), in what Police are treating as a suspected homicide. The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Ricardo Flatts, also known as “Half Breed.” This murder has brought an end to a 10-day lull in recorded murders across Trinidad and Tobago, since 28th July, 2026.
According to reports, a woman alerted a nearby worker that an injured man was observed at the HDC building on Duncan Street, shortly after 1:00 PM.
Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Flatts was discovered at the location with apparent injuries and conveyed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) for emergency medical treatment. However, despite efforts to save the man, he was pronounced dead at approximately 2:35 PM.
Investigators are working to determine exactly how Flatts sustained his fatal injuries.
