BODY of Missing 41-Year-Old Man Found Along Lady Young Road, Morvant — With Gunshot Wounds
A missing man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds along Lady Young Road, Morvant, on Saturday afternoon (8th August, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Kwasi Dion Gill of Beetham Gardens. He was employed as a Gender-Based Violence Case Manager with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
Gill was reported missing after leaving home to attend an event at approximately 10:00 PM on Friday night (7th August, 2026), in his white Toyota Aqua (PDU 163). However, he never arrived at his intended destination, and attempts to contact him by cellphone were not answered.
Officers of the Belmont Police Station were notified around 3:04 PM on Saturday afternoon, that a body was observed lying on the roadway at Textile Hill, Lady Young Road, Belmont. Upon arrival at the scene, Officers found the body of a man of African descent lying on the roadway, with apparent gunshot wounds. He was barefoot and dressed in a white-and-green floral-patterned jersey and grey plaid shorts.
Police believe Gill was murdered sometime overnight between Friday and early Saturday morning.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced the man dead and ordered the body removed to the Forensic Science Centre, pending a post-mortem examination.
Crime scene investigators recovered five (5) spent 9mm shell casings and three (3) projectiles.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding this murder.
