Pavement Marking Works Along Western Main Road And Diego Martin Highway From Monday
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising motorists and the public that pavement marking works will be carried out along sections of the Western Main Road and Diego Martin Highway, from the vicinity of Bayside Towers to Wendy Fitzwilliam Boulevard, from Monday 10th August, 2026 to Friday 14th August, 2026, between the hours of 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM daily.
These works form part of the Ministry’s ongoing programme to maintain and improve pavement markings, enhance lane guidance, and strengthen road safety across the nation’s roadway network.
According to the Ministry, in order to facilitate the safe execution of the works, temporary lane restrictions will be implemented along sections of the Western Main Road and Diego Martin Highway. Traffic will be maintained using the remaining available lanes; however, motorists should anticipate temporary delays while travelling through the affected areas.
Motorists are advised to:
- Follow all temporary traffic signs and the directions of authorized traffic control personnel;
- Reduce speed when approaching and travelling through the work zones;
- Exercise caution and remain alert for workers, equipment, and temporary lane restrictions;
- Maintain a safe following distance and avoid unnecessary lane changes;
- Allow additional travel time; and
- Use alternative routes where practical.
The Ministry said it “apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks motorists and the public for their patience, caution, and co-operation as these essential road safety works are carried out. Your safety is our priority.”
Please be guided accordingly.
