Met Office Issues High Winds Alert Until 3:00 PM This Afternoon

Currently, brief gusty conditions associated with brisk showers are being experienced and these conditions are expected to continue intermittently over the next several hours, with a high (85%) potential for gusts in excess of 55 Km/h in the vicinity of showers.
See original article below:The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a High Winds Alert (Yellow Level) for an hour and fifteen (15) minutes this afternoon (Wednesday 29th January, 2025). The Alert begins at 1:45 PM and will remain in effect until 3:00 PM for Trinidad.
According to the Met Office, there is a high (70%) potential for wind gusts in excess of 55 Km/h associated with brisk showers over the period. These gusts are expected to first impact the Eastern areas of Trinidad and may gradually weaken as they cross the island. Sea conditions are expected to be additionally agitated with waves reaching above 2.5m in open waters and choppy in sheltered areas. These winds are capable of displacing loose items, breaking tree branches and disrupting marine activity.
