SIX (6) Drunk Drivers Caught Along Churchill Roosevelt Highway — Face DUI Charges In New Year

Six (6) individuals were arrested during a DUI enforcement exercise early on New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1st January, 2025).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the joint operation was conducted between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM on Wednesday morning, by the Highway Patrol Task Force and Road Support Unit/STEP and BPU Shift C, along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

During the exercise, forty-six (46) persons were tested, six (6) of whom were found to have a breath alcohol level exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 micrograms (mcg) per 100 millilitres of breath.

The individuals arrested include the following:
  1. A 21-year-old from Unqurie Road, Freeport, who registered 83 mcg.
  2. A 31-year-old from Guaico Trace, Sangre Grande, who registered 42 mcg.
  3. Another 31-year-old from Monarch Drive, Santa Cruz, whose breath alcohol level read 67 mcg.
  4. A 39-year-old from Telesford Street, Arima, registering 86 mcg.
  5. A 44-year-old from Cedar Hill, Claxton Bay, with 56 mcg.
  6. A 52-year-old from Endeavour, Chaguanas, whose reading registered 66 mcg.

All six (6) men were arrested for the offence and will face charges accordingly.
