Manhunt On For TWO (2) Escapees From St. Ann’s Hospital — Charged With Violent Crimes
UPDATE (17/02/25): Both escapees have been recaptured and will face additional charges. Everson Hazelwood was held in Balandra by Matura Police on Thursday (13th February, 2025), while Joshua Garraway was held inside a house at Edinburgh 500 in Chaguanasby Police on Monday (17th February, 2025).
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two (2) men who escaped lawful custody from St. Ann’s Hospital early this morning (Wednesday 12th February, 2025).
According to reports, around 5:30 AM, while conducting daily routine checks, security personnel discovered that two (2) detainees were missing from a ward at the facility, and the incident was subsequently reported to the Police. The escapees have been identified as follows:EVERSON HAZELWOOD, 40
- Description: Approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall, stocky build, brown complexion, mixed descent.
- Clothing: Last seen wearing a white jersey and blue three-quarter jeans.
- Offence: In custody for murder.
JOSHUA GARRAWAY, 33
- Description: Approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, slim build, dark brown complexion, African descent.
- Clothing: Last seen wearing a green plaid shirt and blue jeans.
- Offence: In custody for robbery with violence.

The matter is currently under investigation by Officers of the Belmont Police Station, and efforts are underway to locate the escapees.
The TTPS is also reminding the public that harbouring or assisting an escaped prisoner is a criminal offence.
