NINE (9) Arrested For Various Offences In Southern And South-Western Divisions

Nine (9) persons were arrested for various offences by Officers of the Southern and South-Western Divisions on Friday (14th February, 2025).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), at approximately 6:07 AM on Friday, in the Southern Division, a 33-year-old man from Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville, was arrested for possession of 18.6 grammes of cocaine following a search of his home by Officers of the Southern Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Operations Unit.

Additionally, during an operation conducted between 4:00 AM and 10:00 AM in the Southern Division, Officers of the Southern Division Task Force arrested a 42-year-old man from Indian Walk for possession of four (4) rounds of 16-gauge cartridges and 865 grammes of cannabis. They also arrested a 48-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman for possession of cocaine and possession of a prohibited device.

The exercise was co-ordinated by Snr. Supt. Kirk, Supt. Singh, Supt. Rampath, ASP Phillip, and Insp. Wilkinson.

Between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Officers of the South-Western Division Task Force, Penal Charge Room, Canine Unit, Couva CID, and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, conducted a joint exercise in the Couva District.

Four (4) men were arrested during the exercise, including two (2) men, aged twenty (20) and twenty-four (24), from Polo Grounds Road, Couva, for possession of ammunition. A 24-year-old man from Grant Street, Couva, was also arrested for possession of ammunition.

This exercise was co-ordinated by Snr. Supt. Thompson, Supt. Cumberbatch, ASP Forbes, ASP Ramdass, and ASP Corrie, and supervised by Insp. John and Sgt. Rajkumar.

Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
