Traffic Management Plan For Southbound Lanes of Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway — Chaguanas To Chase Village

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public of the partial opening of the Southbound lanes along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, in the vicinity of the Brentwood Acceleration Lane to the Chase Village Overpass. This partial opening will take place from Monday 17th February, 2025.

Considering the above:
  • A 100m transition zone (red dashed outline as seen in Image 1 below) will be demarcated using traffic control devices (orange line as seen in Image 1), to facilitate the flow of traffic from two (2) lanes into three (3) lanes in the vicinity of the Brentwood Acceleration Lane.
  • Three (3) lanes will be maintained for approximately 2 Km until the approach to the Chase Village Overpass. Approximately 400m North of the Chase Village Overpass, the left lane transitions into the deceleration lane unto the Chase Village Overpass (red arrows seen in Image 2 below). The Southbound lanes take traffic to Freeport/Couva/San Fernando (green arrows seen in Image 2).

Members of the public are advised to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and traffic control devices.

The Ministry said it regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued co-operation. For further information, please call the Programme for Upgrading Road Efficiency (PURE) Unit at 638-2350 to 638-2256 or 675-4052.

Please be guided accordingly.
