Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident Along Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway In Chaguanas
A man is dead following a hit-and-run accident along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway in Chaguanas last night (Wednesday 24th September, 2025). The deceased has not yet been identified.
According to reports, Officers conducting a patrol along the Northbound lane of the Highway, near Bhagwansingh's Hardware, were flagged by a group of people, around 7:08 PM. After stopping, the Officers saw a man of mixed descent, in his mid-20s, lying on the median with severe injuries, consistent with a hit-and-run.
He was conveyed to the Chaguanas Health Facility and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope, where he was pronounced dead at 9:58 PM.
The area near the scene of the accident was canvassed by Cpl. Singh and PC Benjamin for CCTV cameras, but none were found.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the accident or the victim’s identity to contact the Police as soon as possible.
Investigations are continuing.
