BODY of Missing 66-Year-Old Subash Ranjitsingh Found With Gunshot Wound In Arouca
The body of a missing man was found in a bushy area in Arouca on Wednesday morning (29th October, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old Subash Ranjitsingh of Goolie Trace, Pasea Village, Tunapuna. Ranjitsingh, who was reported missing recently, was found shot to death.
According to reports, a man walking through a track in the area stumbled upon Ranjitsingh’s body, around 8:30 AM, and alerted Officers at the Arouca Police Station. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the deceased lying in a bushy area just off Cemetery Street, Windy Hill, Arouca. He was of East Indian descent, approximately six (6) feet tall, slim-built, brown in complexion, barefoot and clad only in a red t-shirt and long blue jeans. Police observed what appeared to be a gunshot wound beneath his left ear.
The scene was secured, and investigators, along with personnel from the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU), processed the area.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) viewed the body, made certain pronouncements and issued a referral for an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre.
Reports further state that residents in the area heard two (2) loud explosions around 7:00 PM on Tuesday night (28th October, 2025), approximately thirteen (13) hours before the body was found.
Around 7:30 PM that same evening, Ranjitsingh’s black Chevy Colorado pickup was reportedly seen driving recklessly along the Eastern Main Road, before colliding with another vehicle near the Nu Luna Bar in Arouca. The suspect continued driving.
The driver of the other vehicle pursued the pickup, which later came to a stop in the Hill View area. A man of East Indian descent was seen alighting from the vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot. When Police later examined the abandoned vehicle, they found Ranjitsingh’s Driver’s Permit inside.
Investigators believe robbery may have been the motive for the killing.
Investigations are continuing.
More on this as it becomes available.
