Finance Minister: Super Gasoline Price Reduced By $1 — With Immediate Effect

The Honourable Davendranath Tancoo, M.P., Minister of Finance, announced in Parliament a short while ago this afternoon (Monday 13th October, 2025) that the price for super gasoline will be reduced by $1.00 per litre, with immediate effect. This equates to a discount of 14.35% at the pump. The announcement was made during his highly-anticipated National Budget 2026 presentation.

According to Minister Tancoo, “The previous PNM Government has been unfairly overcharging citizens for super gasoline. In our bid to rebuild economic fairness...effective immediately the price of super gasoline will be reduced by $1.”

He also stated, “The average fuel tank capacity is about 50 litres — this means, every time you go to fill your tank you would be saving $50 thanks to this reduction!”

With the current price of super gasoline being $6.97 per litre, a reduction by $1 brings it to the new price of $5.97 per litre, with immediate effect.
