46-Year-Old Fire Officer Kidnapped From Arima Home, Car Found Abandoned
UPDATE (06/01/26): A suspect has been detained by Police in connection with the murder of kidnapped Fire Officer Bruce Lezama. The suspect, who lives a short distance away, was one of the men involved in a previous home invasion at Lezama’s home and was recognized at the time by the victim. It is alleged that the same suspect was also identified on CCTV footage as one of the men who bundled Lezama into his vehicle at his Arima residence.
An autopsy has since revealed that Lezama died after being beaten and strangled by his abductors.
UPDATE (30/12/25): Tragically, Lezama's body is believed to have been found this morning (Tuesday 30th December, 2025), based on his clothing, off the Blanchisseuse Road in Arima, a few miles from where he lived. Police and other responders visited the scene and are conducting investigations. The body was removed by Fire Officers and taken to the Forensic Science Centre, pending a positive identification by relatives.
Police are currently investigating the alleged kidnapping of a man from his home in Arima on Saturday (27th December, 2025). The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Fire Officer, Bruce Lezama of Bypass Road, Arima, who is said to be attached to the Ambulance Section - North of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service.
According to reports, after failing to report for duty at his workplace on Saturday evening (27th December, 2025), relatives visited Lezama‘s home in Arima and found the front door open. Surveillance footage reportedly revealed that he was accosted earlier by two (2) individuals at his home, tied up, and taken away in his silver Nissan Tiida.
Police discovered his car abandoned this morning (Monday 29th December, 2025) along Tumpuna Road in Arima.
