Carapichaima Home Invasion: Family Tied Up, Beaten, Robbed of US $10K In Cash, Vehicle, Other Valuables

A family has been left traumatized following a violent home invasion and robbery in Carapichaima early Wednesday morning (28th January, 2026).

According to reports, three (3) armed men stormed a home located along Roopsingh Road Extension, Carapichaima. The victims were asleep when they were suddenly awoken by loud noises, around 3:30 AM. The intruders, all brandishing firearms, announced a robbery, tied the victims in the bedroom, and struck one of them multiple times with a crowbar.

The suspects then proceeded to ransack the house, stealing jewelry, TT currency, US $10,000, and three (3) cellphones before fleeing in the family’s black Toyota Yaris (PEF 8948).

Police were notified and responded to the scene. 

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
