Point Fortin Washing Machine Thieves Arrested
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said two (2) men have been arrested by Officers of the Point Fortin Police Station in connection with the theft of a washing machine on Saturday (24th January, 2026).
According to reports, the victim was contacted by a relative and informed that a neighbour had observed a man park a white van in front of her house and was in the process of removing a washing machine from the garage, located on the Eastern side of the property.
Upon checking the CCTV cameras on her cellphone, the victim observed her Mabe twin-tub washing machine, valued at TT $3,000, being placed into the van, which was parked a short distance away. The suspect then drove off with the appliance.
The victim, of South Central Road, Point Fortin, subsequently made a report to the Police.
Sergeant Alcala and WPC Eastman-Blanche visited the scene, reviewed the CCTV footage and interviewed several persons.
As a result of the investigations, a 45-year-old self-employed man of Cemetery Road, Cap-de-Ville, Point Fortin, and a 24-year-old unemployed man of Fanny Village, Point Fortin, were arrested.
The stolen washing machine was also recovered.
