Today: Variably Cloudy, Isolated Heavy Showers — Increase In Saharan Dust; 30°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect variably cloudy conditions today (Friday 30th January, 2026), with a few periods of showers during the early afternoon. The isolated heavy shower can occur at times. Settled conditions but hazy and breezy, with a few lingering isolated showers are expected as the afternoon progresses and into night. 

Winds may gust at times, particularly near showers.

The Met Office notes that an increase in Saharan dust concentrations are expected later today. Sensitive persons are advised to take the necessary precautions.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 30°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 29°C at Crown Point in Tobago. 

Seas are moderate with waves near 2m in open waters and near 1m and occasionally choppy in sheltered areas.
