Machel Montano Wins Historic 12th National Road March Title

Machel Montano has captured his 12th National Road March title, officially placing him in the record books with the most wins in the competition’s history. He has surpassed the previous record of eleven (11) held by the late Aldwyn “Lord Kitchener” Roberts. The announcement was made a short while ago this afternoon (Wednesday 18th February, 2026) by President of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organization (TUCO), Ainsley King.

Montano’s winning anthem “Encore” was played 171 times across judging points. Voice secured second place with 127 plays of “Cyah Behave,” while Bunji Garlin’s last-minute entry for “Still A Road Man” earned 97 plays to claim third place.
