WASA: South Oropouche Pipeline Repairs Completed Ahead of Schedule

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers, motorists and members of the general public that emergency repairs to the 36-inch transmission pipeline along South Trunk Road, South Oropouche was completed ahead of time, at approximately 12:00 AM on Friday (6th February, 2026).

Customers are further advised that it may take between twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in accordance with established water supply schedules.

The Authority notes that temporary asphalt surface road restoration has also been completed and the flow of vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the job-site returned to normal. Permanent restoration of the site will be undertaken in the coming weeks, in collaboration with NIDCO and the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure - Highways Division.
