Ministry of Health Clarifies Official Name of Couva Children’s Hospital

The Ministry of Health said it wishes to correct the misleading headline published in the Trinidad Express article titled “The Couva Hospital Has No Name.”

In a Media Release on Sunday (8th March, 2026), the Ministry said, “Contrary to the claim made in the headline, the facility was reverted to its original name, Couva Children’s Hospital, following approval by Cabinet in 2025. This information was provided to the reporter prior to publication.”

The Ministry also notes that “signage bearing the name Couva Children’s Hospital has already been installed at the front of the building. In addition, an external sign of larger scale is currently in the procurement process and is expected to be installed soon.”
