6-Year-Old Girl In ICU After Being Found Unresponsive In Pool At Gasparillo Fun Park
A 6-year-old girl is currently hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after she was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a children’s recreational facility in Gasparillo on Friday afternoon (10th April, 2026). The child has been identified as Skylar Gabriel.
The pool measures approximately forty-five (45) feet by twenty (20) feet, with a depth ranging between three (3) feet and five (5) feet.
According to initial reports, Skylar was in the pool with other children at Bumper Jumperz Fun Park, located along Morash Avenue, Bonne Aventure, when she was found unresponsive, around 1:20 PM. Her parents, Fire Officer Sheldon Gabriel and Firefighter Desire Walters, were on the premises at the time.
They were alerted when the child was discovered motionless in the water.
Quick action was taken by individuals at the facility, who pulled Skylar from the pool and contacted emergency services.
Emergency Health Services personnel responded and reportedly detected signs of life upon arrival. The child was then rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital, where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Skylar remained in critical condition up to late Friday as Doctors worked to stabilize her.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances that led to the near-drowning in the pool.
More on this as it becomes available.
