Freeport Family Robbed of Cash, Jewellery, Valuables In Armed Home Invasion
A family of five (5) has been left traumatized following an armed home invasion in Freeport early Tuesday morning (7th April, 2026).
According to reports, the victims, including a 51-year-old truck driver of Teewarie Road, his 42-year-old wife, and three (3) other occupants, aged twenty-two (22), twenty (20) and thirteen (13), were asleep when they were awakened by a loud crashing noise, around 4:45 AM.
Upon investigating, they were confronted by three (3) men, one (1) armed with a firearm and two (2) wielding cutlasses, who announced a robbery. The intruders ordered the occupants to lie on the ground before ransacking the house.
The bandits made off with approximately $600 in cash, a quantity of jewellery and a Samsung A32 cellphone.
Reports state that the suspects attempted to flee in a black Toyota Hilux. However, the vehicle was later found crashed in a ditch opposite the victims’ home.
Police were alerted and responded to the scene.
Investigations revealed that entry was gained by prying open burglar-proofing and a window on the Northern side of the house.
Investigations are continuing into the home invasion and robbery.
More on this as it becomes available.
