Emergency Road Closure: S.S. Erin Road - 15.8 Km Mark

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is advising the public of a temporary road closure along the S.S. Erin Road at the 15.8 Km mark, in the vicinity of Mora Dam Trace and Syne Trace.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the emergency replacement of a failed cylinder culvert, along with associated roadworks.

These works are scheduled for today (Sunday 3rd May, 2026), between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Alternative Route

  • Motorists are advised to utilize Mora Dam Trace and Syne Trace as alternative routes.

Motorists are further advised to comply with the following:

  • Proceed with caution and observe all directional signage and barriers.
  • Follow instructions from Police Officers or flag personnel on-site to ensure the safe and orderly flow of traffic.
  • Be mindful of heavy equipment operating within and entering or exiting the work 
zone.
  • Reduce speed when approaching and traversing the work zone.

The Ministry said it regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued co-operation.
