EDITOR’S NOTE: Initial reports stated that the victim attended Queen’s Royal College (QRC). However, QRC has since issued a statement clarifying that he was not a student there. New information states that he was a Form 3 student of St. Mary’s College (CIC). The body of this article has been updated.
A teenage student is dead following a road traffic accident along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in El Socorro this morning (Saturday 27th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Idris Hosein of Cunupia — a Form 3 student of St. Mary’s College (CIC).
Hosein allegedly took his father’s bluish-purple motorcycle (PCW 326) for a joyride without his permission.
According to reports, while heading along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on the Westbound lane, the motorcycle collided with the back of a white car, opposite Lifestyle Motors in El Socorro. The violent impact threw the teenager from the motorcycle and onto the roadway.
The car was switching from the middle lane to the far-left lane at the time of the crash. The driver eventually pulled over on the shoulder.
Police, Fire and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded. However, Hosein succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigations are continuing into the fatal crash.
More on this as it becomes available.
