17-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Brasso Seco Waters — Body Recovered Early This Morning
A teenager has drowned while bathing in the waters of Brasso Seco on Sunday afternoon (28th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Isiah Estrada of Brazil Village, Arima, who has a twin brother.
The Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, said they received a distress call about a possible drowning in the first Marianne River Gorge, Brasso Seco, around 3:00 PM.
Upon arrival at the remote location at 10:00 PM, the team was told that Isiah was bathing with a friend from Brasso Seco when he did not surface. Using specialized equipment, the HSRT was able to recover the body at 12:15 AM this morning (Monday 29th June, 2026) from under a rocky shelf, in approximately seventeen (17) feet of water.
Police Officers from the Blanchisseuse Police Station visited and processed the scene.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the tragic drowning.
