40-Year-Old Man Shot Dead Near Bar In St. Joseph — 16 Days After Double Murder Acquittal

A man is dead following a shooting incident near a bar in St. Joseph on Sunday afternoon (21st June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Warren Small, also known as “Quincy” and “Blacks.” He was killed just sixteen (16) days after he was cleared by a High Court Judge of two (2) counts of murder and related firearm offences, stemming from a 2020 shooting incident.

According to reports, Police Officers were conducting enquiries in the St. Joseph district when they were alerted by patrons at “Khalid and Sons Bar and Lounge,” located along Royal Road, Maracas, St. Joseph, that a man had been shot and rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope, around 5:40 PM.

Upon arrival at the scene, Officers discovered multiple spent shell casings and what appeared to be blood on the roadway near the establishment. 

Small was reportedly standing near Centre Trace, close to the bar, when a vehicle pulled alongside him. Moments later, a gunman opened fire before the vehicle sped away from the scene, leaving Small wounded on the roadway.

He was rushed to the EWMSC by a private vehicle but succumbed to gunshot injuries to the head at 5:54 PM.

Crime scene investigators recovered nine (9) x 9mm spent shell casings and one (1) live round.

Small's death comes less than three (3) weeks after Justice Nalini Singh acquitted him of the murders of Darrie Simon and Sharlene Ramkissoon, which occurred on 3rd March, 2020 at Acono Junction, Maracas, as well as charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

In delivering her ruling on 5th June, 2026, Justice Singh found that the State had failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Small was the gunman responsible for the killings, as the shooter’s face was concealed by a hoodie and bandana.

Police have not yet established a motive for this murder and no arrests have been made.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

According to Narcise’s 18-year-old sister, Davina Buchoon, both men had been involved in a longstanding feud which began after Narcise moved to Enterprise from Arima, along with his common-law wife and her five (5) children. UPDATE (28/10/26):  20-year-old Nicholas Ramlal has been remanded into custody after making his first Court appearance since being charged with the heinous murders of his mother and teenage sister. A woman is dead following a shooting incident in Arima early this morning (Saturday 24th October, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Yvette Baptiste of Pinto Road, Arima. 35-Year-Old Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing At Busy Corner, Chaguanas

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a 35-year-old man is in Police custody following the fatal stabbing of a man at Busy Corner, Southern Main Road, Chaguanas , on Saturday morning (10th October, 2026). The deceased has not yet been identified. The TTPS said around 7:30 AM, Officers on mobile patrol along Old Endeavour Road received a report from a pedestrian about a man lying motionless on the roadway at Busy Corner. 35-Year-Old Man Stabbed To Death In Valencia — Police Investigating

EDITOR’S NOTE: The body of this article has been updated with new details. A man is dead following a stabbing incident in Valencia early this morning (Sunday 1st November, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Fenwick Gibson of Mc David Street, Lopinot. According to reports, Gibson and his cousin, Este Huggins, visited a gas station in Valencia to refuel their vehicle, when Gibson reportedly became involved in an argument with a group of men, around 5:48 AM. During the confrontation, Gibson was allegedly beaten and stabbed in the neck. He was subsequently placed in a white open-tray van and transported to the Arima Hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. UPDATE:  Police apprehended the suspect , identified as a 35-year-old labourer of Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, following a brief chase. Officers of the Central Police Division were on mobile patrol along Old Endeavour Road, around 7:30 AM, when they were alerted by a pedestrian that a man was lying motionless in a pool of blood on the roadway.
