School Supplies And Book Grant 2026 — Means Test Underway, Deadline For Applications On 8th July
The Ministry of Education is conducting a Means Test to determine eligibility for the School Supplies and Book Grant, to support financially disadvantaged students at both the Primary and Secondary levels. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens students face in acquiring essential school supplies, ensuring they have the resources for learning.
The Means Test commenced on Monday 22nd June, 2026 and the deadline for applications is on Wednesday 8th July, 2026.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Trinidad and Tobago Nationals only.
- Parents/Guardians earning a gross salary of $7,500 or less, with students currently enrolled at the following institutions: Government and Government Assisted Primary and Secondary Schools (Special schools included); Government Funded Private Secondary and Private Special Educational Institutes; and SERVOL Junior Life Centres.
- Parents of students with Special Needs.
- Parents/Guardians of students in receipt of Government Assistance from the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS).
Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee receipt of a grant.
ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS
- Create and verify your account: Register with a valid email address. Open the verification link sent to your email before continuing.
- Complete your profile: Add your personal details, including identification, address and employment information. Upload all required supporting documents.
- Add a secondary caregiver: If needed, add another parent or legal guardian who supports your child. Their personal details and supporting documents will be required.
- Add your child or children: Enter your child's details, including school and class. Upload the required documents, such as the verification letter and birth certificate. Medical evidence may be required where applicable.
- Review and submit your application: Check all details carefully before submitting. Each submitted application will receive a unique reference number for tracking each individual child.
HAVE THESE DOCUMENTS READY FOR UPLOAD
For each student:
- School Verification Letter (stamped, signed, dated by the Principal).
- Birth Certificate.
- Medical evidence of Special Needs (if applicable).
For the parent/guardian:
- One (1) valid ID - National ID, Passport or Driver's Permit/License.
- Proof of address - utility bill or bank statement (if not in your name, include an authorization letter and the owner's ID).
- Job Letter or Pay Slip (no more than 3 months old, stamped) - OR two (2) Recommendation Letters if self-employed, unemployed or retired.
- Bank Verification Form (if you choose bank payment).
- Evidence of Government Assistance (if applicable).
GRANT AMOUNTS
Tiered by level of study:
- $1,000: Currently enrolled - Infant 1 to Standard 5 Students.
- $500: Currently enrolled - Form 1 Students (Recipients of Al Digital Learning Resources).
- $1,000: Currently enrolled - Form 2 to Upper 6 Students.
One (1) application is submitted per child. Submitting an application does not guarantee receipt of a grant.
