Search Intensifies For Missing 51-Year-Old Businessman; Vehicle Found In Barrackpore

UPDATE (05/08/26): The skeletal remains discovered in a bushy area in Mon Repos, San Fernando, by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, last month, on 16th July, 2026, have been positively identified as those of missing Williamsville businessman Kelvin Samaroo.

His skull was found approximately ten (10) feet from his decomposing body. A resident of the area first discovered the bottom-jaw of a human earlier that day and contacted the Police. The HSRT subsequently became involved and made the grim discovery later in the afternoon.


Following the positive identification of the body, the HSRT said, “On behalf of HSRT, we extend our commiserations to his family, friends and love ones. SLEEP IN ETERNAL PEACE KELVIN. GOD’S BLESSINGS BROTHER.”

UPDATE (25/06/26): CCTV footage is said to have captured a man outside of Samaroo’s business place on Friday afternoon (19th June, 2026), pacing about while on a phone. The individual reportedly left the area around 4:00 PM and returned near 6:00 PM, before being picked up by a vehicle. Investigators are treating the footage as part of the broader timeline being pieced together to ascertain what took place on that Friday. They believe Samaroo may have returned home later that day before receiving a call that prompted him to leave again on Friday night, shortly before he disappeared.

Further developments have emerged in relation to Samaroo’s vehicle, which was allegedly part of a rent-to-own arrangement. Sources said payments for the vehicle were typically made on Saturdays. After he failed to return home, the vehicle owner was alerted and used GPS tracking to locate the silver Nissan Almera on Lagoon Road in Barrackpore. The system was then remotely disabled before the car was later found abandoned by Police.

Despite multiple lines of inquiry, including CCTV analysis, vehicle tracking data and community searches, there has been no confirmed breakthrough in the case and Samaroo remains missing. Police investigations are continuing.

The search for a missing businessman has intensified after his vehicle was found abandoned in Barrackpore on Saturday (20th June, 2026). He has been identified as 51-year-old Kelvin Samaroo of Williamsville, the proprietor of Copy Rite Stationery Supplies in San Fernando.

According to reports, Samaroo was last seen around 9:00 PM on Friday night (19th June, 2026), while driving a silver Nissan Almera behind a relative along Esmeralda Main Road. Both vehicles later travelled along Union Road, Marabella, where the relative turned onto Battoo Avenue. Samaroo then continued West along Union Road. He has not been seen since.

Family members became alarmed after repeated attempts to contact him by phone were unsuccessful. They subsequently filed a missing person report with the Police.

Samaroo’s vehicle was found abandoned in the Barrackpore district the following day, on Saturday (20th June, 2026). The discovery has heightened concerns among relatives, who say they have had no contact with him since the night he disappeared.

Samaroo is described as being of East Indian descent, brown in complexion, approximately five (5) feet - nine (9) inches tall, medium built, with short greying hair and brown eyes. He has a distinctive vitiligo mark over his left eye and psoriasis scars on both elbows.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. 19-Year-Old Driver Dies In Cocorite Crash — Passenger Hospitalized

A man is dead and another listed in serious condition at Hospital following a horrific road traffic accident in Cocorite on Wednesday night (9th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Binyameen Rahaman of Warren Road, Cunupia. The body of a missing pensioner was found under large suitcases at a house in Curepe on Monday afternoon (7th September, 2026). A man wanted for extortion is dead following a Police-involved shooting incident in Carapichaima early Thursday morning (10th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Riyad Sean Ali of Orangefield Settlement, Carapichaima. His elderly mother and brother were reportedly detained and firearms seized at the scene. BODY of Woman Found Inside Abandoned Security Booth In San Fernando — Police Investigating

The decomposing body of a woman was found inside an abandoned security booth on the compound of an old panyard in San Fernando on Wednesday morning (16th September, 2026).
