Farmer Crushed To Death Under Tractor In Forres Park Garden
A man is dead after being pinned beneath a tractor in Forres Park, Claxton Bay, on Wednesday afternoon (15th July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as farmer, Vijay Harripersad, of Alarack Road, Forres Park.
According to reports, Harripersad’s son went to the garden area where his father was working in, located along Alarack Road, to collect a watering can, around 3:30 PM. However, upon arrival, he discovered his father trapped beneath his Ford 6610 tractor (TAY 2766).
The son immediately contacted Police and Emergency Health Services.
Officers responded to the report of a man trapped under a tractor, around 4:30 PM. On arrival at the scene, they found Harripersad lying motionless on his back and covered with a blanket.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced Harripersad dead. The body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
