Heritage Petroleum Condemns Pipeline Sabotage In Barrackpore — Responds To Oil Leak

A hydrocarbon leak was discovered along GT Road, Barrackpore, on Tuesday (30th June, 2026). Heritage Petroleum Company Limited believes this was an act of sabotage, noting that preliminary assessments indicated that a section of pipeline, approximately six (6) feet in length, had been detached. After activating its Incident Command System, the company implemented spill response measures to the affected areas.

According to Heritage, emergency teams deployed vacuum trucks and heavy machinery to recover spilled product, while containment booms were placed in a nearby watercourse. The company has engaged residents and stakeholders to provide updates and support while conducting air quality monitoring as a precaution. 

Heritage is strongly condemning acts of sabotage, warning that they threaten public safety, the environment and national energy infrastructure. The company said it has increased security and monitoring of its assets following the incident. The matter has also been referred to law enforcement and investigations are ongoing. 

Regulatory agencies, including the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) have been notified. Heritage reaffirmed its commitment to full remediation and continued updates as the response progresses.

The company said its Incident Command System remains fully activated to ensure co-ordinated response efforts across technical, environmental and safety teams. Officials said continuous monitoring will remain in place until the affected area is fully stabilized and environmental risks are reduced. Heritage also said it is working closely with national agencies to strengthen safeguards and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, residents in nearby communities have been advised to remain alert and follow official guidance as assessments continue. Heritage said transparency remains a priority and updates will be shared with stakeholders as verified information becomes available. The company reiterated its condemnation of sabotage and emphasized the importance of protecting critical national energy infrastructure.

Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the incident as officials seek to identify those responsible. Heritage added that it remains committed to environmental restoration, community engagement and safe operations across all its assets while continuing to support national efforts to secure the energy sector against further threats. 

The company said it will continue to closely monitor developments and provide stakeholders with daily updates.

A woman has been charged with the murder of   Chaguanas businessman Gregory Reece , who was stabbed to death at her apartment in Woodford Gardens on Sunday 28th June, 2026. TWO (2) Suspects Arrested Following Armed Robbery At Chaguanas Mini-Mart

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a man and a woman were arrested and a firearm recovered, following a co-ordinated Police response to an armed robbery at a mini-mart in Chaguanas this afternoon (Friday 17th July, 2026). At approximately 12:55 PM, Officers of the Central Division Task Force (Area North) responded to a report of a robbery with aggravation at a mini-mart, located along La Clave Street, Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas. Venezuelan Woman Stabbed To Death By Boyfriend During Confrontation At Chaguanas Home

UPDATE (12/07/26): Police have launched a manhunt for the 23-year-old boyfriend of Kelimar Del Jesus Duran Morillo, following her fatal stabbing early Saturday morning. The incident unfolded just hours after Morillo and her on-and-off boyfriend of three (3) years attended his birthday celebration at his parents’ home in Endeavour, Chaguanas. 42-Year-Old Man Killed When Panel Van Crashes Into Truck Along Caparo Valley Brasso Road

A man is dead following a road traffic accident along the Caparo Valley Brasso Road this morning (Saturday 4th July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Jason Ramnanan of Caparo. According to reports, Ramnanan was driving a white panel van when it collided with a green and yellow waste disposal truck (TCJ 1195) near the Santa Phillipa Bridge along the Caparo Valley Brasso Road, around 9:00 AM.
