Today: Hot, Hazy, 40% Chance For Heavy Showers — Moderate Saharan Dust; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect hot and hazy conditions today (Tuesday 28th July, 2026), despite a few showers. There is also a medium (40%) chance of an isolated afternoon heavy shower or thunderstorm, favouring Western coastal areas of Trinidad. Tonight will be fair at first, with some cloudiness developing from Midnight and accompanied by a few light or moderate showers and a medium (40%) chance of isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms.
Gusty winds and street flooding may occur near heavy showers or thunderstorms.
The Met Office notes that there is a moderate concentration of Saharan dust present in the atmosphere. Persons who are sensitive to this change in air quality are advised to take the necessary precautions.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1m to 2m in open waters and below 1m in sheltered areas.
