Firearms, Ammunition Seized — Several Persons Arrested In Central Division
Officers of the Central Division conducted several operations under “Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield,” resulting in the seizure of firearms and ammunition, recovery of stolen property, and the arrest of several persons on Saturday (29th August, 2026).
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), between 10:00 PM on Saturday (29th August, 2026) and 12:10 AM on Sunday (30th August, 2026), Officers of the Longdenville Police Post proceeded to a bushy area along Pierre Road, Felicity, where a firearm was found. The object was fitted with a magazine containing thirteen (13) brass-coloured 9mm ammunition.
The item was seized and conveyed to the Longdenville Police Post.
During an intelligence-led operation conducted in Chaguanas between 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Saturday (29th August, 2026), Officers, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a grey Kia Cerato in the Chaguanas Police District. The vehicle was used in the commission of a report of robbery in the district.
Officers subsequently proceeded to an apartment building, located at Felicity, Chaguanas, where three (3) persons were arrested in connection with a report of robbery with violence, which occurred on 27th August, 2026.
The persons arrested are as follows: a 46-year-old man of Grand Lagoon, Mayaro, a 34-year-old man of Matura Street, Felicity, Chaguanas and a 22-year-old man of Matura Street, Felicity, Chaguanas.
Enquiries are continuing.
In a separate incident on Saturday (29th August, 2026), a report was made concerning a burglary at an establishment, located at Exchange Estate Road, Couva. Checks revealed that a cash register, a computer system, inclusive of a Dell flat screen monitor, a keyboard, a quantity of clothing items and other merchandise were missing.
Acting on intelligence received, Officers of the Couva CID proceeded to Railway Road, Couva, where the stolen items in the aforementioned report were recovered, together with the vehicle used in the commission of the offence.
Attempts to locate the suspect, however, proved futile. Useful information was obtained and enquiries are continuing.
During another “Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield” exercise, conducted between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Officers proceeded to Cunupia, where a 20-year-old man of Jerningham Junction Road, Cunupia, was arrested for possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.
Officers seized a homemade shotgun and a round of 12-gauge cartridge.
On Saturday (29th August, 2026), between 4:00 AM and 9:00 AM, Officers proceeded to the vicinity of a bar, located on Marie Street, Chaguanas, where a male was arrested, identified as a 21-year-old man of Roystonia, Couva.
Officers seized a black revolver and six (6) rounds of .380 ammunition. The suspect was arrested for possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.
Investigations are continuing into all of the above matters.
