Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should be prepared for partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with showers likely over a few areas, particularly during the afternoon and evening, so carrying an umbrella or light raincoat is advisable. With a low (30%) chance of isolated thunderstorms, persons should remain alert for sudden heavy showers, gusty winds and lightning, and seek shelter indoors if thunderstorm activity develops. Street flooding is possible during heavy downpours, so motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution on roads and in low-lying areas. Temperatures are expected to reach 32°C at both Piarco and Crown Point, making lightweight clothing, sunscreen and adequate hydration recommended. Seas will be slight to moderate, with waves of 1.2m to 1.5m in open waters and below 0.5m in sheltered areas, though beachgoers and boat users should still exercise caution if showers or thunderstorms develop.
