Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should be prepared for intermittent showers and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the earlier part of the day. Carry an umbrella or raincoat, wear suitable footwear, and allow extra travel time where possible, as heavy downpours may produce street or isolated flash flooding and temporarily hazardous driving conditions. During thunderstorms, seek shelter indoors and avoid exposed areas, trees, utility poles and open spaces, while gusty winds may also occur. With temperatures reaching 32°C at Piarco and 31°C at Crown Point, stay hydrated and use sun protection during brighter periods. Those venturing onto the sea should exercise caution, as moderate seas with waves of 1.5m to 2m are expected in open waters, with choppy conditions possible near showers in sheltered areas. Conditions should generally become more settled by late afternoon, although isolated showers may linger.
