Today’s Weather: Fair, Sunny, Low To Medium Chance For Heavy Showers; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect mostly fair and sunny conditions today (Friday 4th September, 2026), becoming partly cloudy during the afternoon, with a few light or moderate showers, favouring hilly areas. There is a low to medium chance that a heavy shower or thunderstorm activity could develop over Trinidad, favouring, but not confined to, hilly areas and North-Western Trinidad, during the afternoon. This evening and tonight will be mostly fair, with the chance for a brief shower in some areas.
In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, gusty winds are to be expected, and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1.5m in open waters and below 1m but choppy in the vicinity of showers in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons planning to spend time outdoors today should be prepared for hot and mostly sunny conditions, with temperatures reaching around 33°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago, so lightweight clothing, sunscreen, a hat and adequate hydration are recommended. Conditions may become partly cloudy during the afternoon, with brief showers and a low to medium possibility of heavy showers or thunderstorms, particularly over hilly and North-Western areas of Trinidad. Outdoor activities should therefore be planned preferably for the morning, while persons should monitor weather conditions and seek shelter promptly if thunder or darkening skies develop. During heavy showers or thunderstorms, gusty winds and localized street or flash flooding are possible, so motorists and pedestrians should avoid flooded areas and exercise extra caution on the roads. Those venturing offshore should also be mindful that seas will be slight to moderate, with waves around 1.5m in open waters, while sheltered areas may become choppy near showers.
