Today’s Weather: Fair, Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Low Chance For Heavy Showers; 34°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect initially fair and sunny conditions today (Sunday 6th September, 2026), becoming partly cloudy at times during the afternoon and evening, with a few light or moderate showers in some areas. There is a low chance that a heavy shower could develop over hilly and Western peninsular areas of Trinidad during the afternoon, and over Tobago and Eastern Trinidad during the late afternoon to evening.

In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, gusty winds are to be expected, and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 34°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.

Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1.5m in open waters and below 1m but could become choppy in the vicinity of showers in sheltered areas.

Recommendations for outdoor activities today:

Persons heading outdoors today should stay hydrated, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, and use sun protection, as temperatures could reach 34°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago. While conditions will initially be fair and sunny, carry an umbrella or rain gear and be prepared for a change to partly cloudy conditions and passing showers, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Those travelling through hilly and Western Trinidad, Eastern Trinidad or Tobago should exercise extra caution, as heavier showers or thunderstorms could bring sudden gusty winds and localized street or flash flooding. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded roadways and slow down on wet roads. Anyone heading to the beach or venturing offshore should also monitor conditions, as seas will be slight to moderate, with waves around 1.5m in open waters and potentially choppy conditions near showers.
