Today’s Weather: Hot, Sunny, 30% Chance For Heavy Showers; 33°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect generally hot and sunny conditions today (Monday 14th September, 2026), interrupted by a few partly cloudy periods with isolated showers. There is a low (30%) chance of isolated, afternoon heavy showers/thunderstorms. Tonight will be mostly fair and increasingly hazy, despite the risk of isolated showers.

In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding may occur in areas so prone.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.

Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1m to 1.5m in open waters and below 1m in sheltered areas.

Recommendations for outdoor activities today:

Persons heading outdoors today should stay well hydrated, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, and use sunscreen, hats or other protection from the strong midday heat and sunshine. Be prepared for brief isolated showers, particularly during the afternoon, and seek shelter promptly if heavy showers or thunderstorms develop, as gusty winds, street flooding and flash flooding may occur in areas prone to flooding. Those venturing onto the water should still exercise caution despite generally slight to moderate seas, with waves reaching 1m to 1.5m in open waters. As conditions become increasingly hazy tonight, persons who are sensitive to hazy conditions may also wish to limit prolonged outdoor exposure.
