Today’s Weather: Hot, Sunny, 40% Chance For Heavy Showers; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect generally hot and sunny conditions today (Saturday 19th September, 2026), interrupted by partly cloudy periods with a few showers. There is a medium (40%) chance of isolated heavy showers/thunderstorm activity, favouring Western and hilly areas during late morning to afternoon. Tonight will be mostly fair, despite isolated showers.
In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding may occur in areas so prone.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are slight with waves 1m to 1.2m in open waters and below 0.8m in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should be prepared for hot and sunny conditions, so stay hydrated, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, and use sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for protection from the sun. Keep an umbrella or light rain gear handy, as partly cloudy periods and showers are possible, with a medium chance of isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms, particularly over Western and hilly areas from late morning into the afternoon. If thunderstorm activity develops, seek shelter promptly and avoid exposed areas, tall trees and open spaces, while motorists should exercise caution around areas prone to street or flash flooding and be alert for sudden gusty winds. Conditions should become mostly fair tonight, although an isolated shower cannot be ruled out.
