Today’s Weather: Hot, Sunny, Breezy, 20% Chance For Heavy Showers; 34°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect generally hot, sunny and at times, breezy conditions today (Saturday 5th September, 2026), interrupted by isolated showers. There is a low (20%) chance of isolated, afternoon heavy showers/thunderstorms, favouring Western regions of Trinidad. Tonight will be mostly fair, despite the risk of isolated showers.
In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding may occur in areas so prone.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 34°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1m to 1.5m in open waters and below 1m in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should stay well hydrated, wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, apply sunscreen, and limit prolonged exposure to the midday and early-afternoon heat, particularly with temperatures reaching up to 34°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago. Carry an umbrella or light rain gear, as isolated showers may develop, especially during the afternoon, with a 20% chance of a heavier shower or thunderstorm over Western Trinidad. If a thunderstorm develops, seek shelter promptly, as gusty winds, lightning and sudden street or flash flooding are possible in vulnerable areas. Those venturing onto the water should exercise normal caution, with seas expected to be slight to moderate and waves generally 1m to 1.5m in open waters.
