Today’s Weather: Sunny, 20% Chance For Heavy Showers; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect mostly sunny conditions today (Friday 18th September, 2026), except for brief, isolated showery interruptions. There is the low (20%) chance of a heavier shower or thunderstorm, favouring hilly and Western areas of Trinidad. Tonight will be clear with a light breeze and the odd shower after Midnight.
In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, gusty winds and street flooding are possible.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are moderate with waves 1.5m to 2m in open waters and up to 1m and occasionally choppy in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should stay hydrated, use sunscreen, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, and seek shade or limit prolonged exposure during the hottest parts of the day. Although conditions will be mostly sunny, it is advisable to keep an umbrella or light rain gear nearby in case of a brief shower, particularly in hilly and Western areas of Trinidad where the chance of heavier showers or thunderstorms is slightly higher. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution if a heavy shower develops, as gusty winds and street flooding are possible. Those venturing onto the water should also exercise caution, as seas will be moderate with waves of 1.5m to 2m in open waters and up to 1m, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
