Today’s Weather: Sunny, 30% Chance For Heavy Showers; 34°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect predominantly sunny conditions today (Thursday 3rd September, 2026), despite the brief isolated shower. There is also the low to medium (30%) chance of a heavier shower or thunderstorm, favouring the Western and hilly areas of Trinidad. Tonight will be mostly fair, except for the odd shower.

In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, gusty winds and street flooding are possible.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 34°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.

Seas are slight to moderate with waves up to 1.3m in open waters and below 0.5m in sheltered areas.

Recommendations for outdoor activities today:

Persons heading outdoors today should prepare for hot and predominantly sunny conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 34°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago. Stay well hydrated, wear lightweight and breathable clothing, use sunscreen, and consider a hat or umbrella to limit prolonged exposure to the heat. Although showers should generally be brief and isolated, keep an umbrella or rain gear handy, particularly if travelling through Western or hilly areas of Trinidad, where there is a 30% chance of a heavier shower or thunderstorm. Motorists should exercise caution if heavy rain develops, as gusty winds and street flooding may occur. Those venturing onto the water can expect slight to moderate seas, with waves up to 1.3m in open waters and below 0.5m in sheltered areas.
