26-Year-Old Man Shot Dead By Police On Rooftop In Arima Following High-Speed Chase

A man is dead following a Police-involved shooting incident in Arima early Saturday morning (17th October, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Karlise Hart of Lanse Mitan Road, Carenage. He was shot on a rooftop after allegedly pointing a firearm at Police Officers following a high-speed pursuit.

According to reports, Officers on mobile patrol along Koon Koon Street, Malabar, observed a red Nissan Almera with three (3) male occupants who were acting in a suspicious manner, around 12:50 AM.

The Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver reportedly sped off along Subero Street, triggering a chase through parts of Malabar.

Police contacted the National Operations Centre for assistance as the pursuit continued along Second Koon Koon Street and Trainline, Malabar, before the Almera came to an abrupt stop along Darceuil Lane, Arima Old Road.

The three (3) men reportedly alighted from the vehicle and ran in different directions in an attempt to evade capture.

With assistance from Officers of the Task Force, Police proceeded to Moore Lane, Saroga Drive, where they observed Hart walking on a galvanized rooftop, dressed in a blue patterned jersey and blue three-quarter-length pants.

The suspect allegedly pointed an object resembling a firearm at two (2) Officers, who, fearing for their lives, discharged several rounds in his direction. Hart was struck about the body and collapsed on the roof.

Officers subsequently removed the wounded man from the rooftop and conveyed him to the Arima Health Facility for emergency medical treatment. However, he was pronounced dead by Dr. Mohammed, around 1:30 AM.

The remaining two (2) occupants of the vehicle were held — one (1) was reportedly released, while the other remains in Police custody.

Crime scene investigators are said to have recovered five (5) spent 9mm shells, a knife and a black revolver containing one (1) live .38-calibre round from the rooftop.

Conflicting accounts have since emerged surrounding the deadly incident, with Hart’s parents alleging that he fled from Officers because he was not in possession of his Driver’s Licence.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

According to Narcise’s 18-year-old sister, Davina Buchoon, both men had been involved in a longstanding feud which began after Narcise moved to Enterprise from Arima, along with his common-law wife and her five (5) children. Buchoon said tensions between Narcise and the 40-year-old man had persisted for months, with frequent exchanges of words. UPDATE (28/10/26):  20-year-old Nicholas Ramlal has been remanded into custody after making his first Court appearance since being charged with the heinous murders of his mother and teenage sister. A woman is dead following a shooting incident in Arima early this morning (Saturday 24th October, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Yvette Baptiste of Pinto Road, Arima. 35-Year-Old Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing At Busy Corner, Chaguanas

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a 35-year-old man is in Police custody following the fatal stabbing of a man at Busy Corner, Southern Main Road, Chaguanas , on Saturday morning (10th October, 2026). The deceased has not yet been identified. 35-Year-Old Man Stabbed To Death In Valencia — Police Investigating

EDITOR’S NOTE: The body of this article has been updated with new details. A man is dead following a stabbing incident in Valencia early this morning (Sunday 1st November, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Fenwick Gibson of Mc David Street, Lopinot. According to reports, Gibson and his cousin, Este Huggins, visited a gas station in Valencia to refuel their vehicle, when Gibson reportedly became involved in an argument with a group of men, around 5:48 AM. During the confrontation, Gibson was allegedly beaten and stabbed in the neck. He was subsequently placed in a white open-tray van and transported to the Arima Hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. UPDATE:  Police apprehended the suspect , identified as a 35-year-old labourer of Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, following a brief chase. Officers of the Central Police Division were on mobile patrol along Old Endeavour Road, around 7:30 AM, when they were alerted by a pedestrian that a man was lying motionless in a pool of blood on the roadway. Upon arrival at the scene, near Busy Corner Drugs, they found the body of a man lying face down on the road, wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans with a red backpack on his back. A man is dead following a horrific freak accident along the Foreshore, just after MovieTowne in Port-of-Spain on Tuesday (3rd November, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old truck driver, Lennox Sylvan, popularly known as “Mr. Berry,” of Unity Road, Richplain Road, Diego Martin. According to reports, Sylvan was working under the cab of his blue truck along the shoulder of the Westbound carriageway, when it was suddenly struck from behind by a heavy vehicle. The collision reportedly caused the truck’s cab to collapse on Sylvan, trapping him between the cab and the tray.
