Autopsy Reveals 69-Year-Old Man Beaten To Death At Cunupia Home
A post-mortem examination has revealed that a retired man who was found unresponsive at his home in Cunupia earlier this month, died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries. The deceased has been identified as 69-year-old Brian De-Peza of Kernaham Trace, Chin Chin Road, Cunupia. According to reports, the victim was discovered at his home around 10:00 PM on Sunday 4th October, 2026, after he was last seen alive a few days earlier, on Friday 2nd October, 2026. Police responded to a report of sudden death around 3:50 AM on Monday 5th October, 2026 and found the retiree lying unresponsive on a bed inside a bedroom. He was said to be clutching an asthma pump at the time, and a substance resembling blood was observed around his nose and mouth. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who ordered the body removed, pending a post-mortem examination. The examination was subsequently conducted at the Forensic Science Centre on Tuesday (20th October, 2026), when the deceased was identified by his sister. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force traumatic injuries to the body. The caretaker of the property where De-Peza was found said he was a chronic asthma patient, who was receiving care at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope. Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding his death. More on this as it becomes available. [Source: Ian Alleyne]
