Met Office Discontinues Hot Spell Alert For Trinidad And Tobago
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) said it is discontinuing its Hot Spell Alert (Yellow Level) today (Saturday 31st October, 2026) as scheduled, as the Heat Season draws to an end and the likelihood of sustained Hot Spell conditions decreases. The Hot Spell Alert was in effect since the afternoon of 24th September, 2026.
According to the Met Office, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions and rainfall events have resulted in lower maximum temperatures. As a result, the Hot Spell Alert is discontinued. Although drier than normal conditions are forecast for November, occasional rainfall events are still possible. Warm to hot conditions may persist; however, the likelihood of temperatures remaining at or above the Hot Spell thresholds has decreased.
The TTMS advises, however, that warm temperatures are still expected in November, followed by cooler temperatures in December.
